Project Description:
Eisman & Russo, Inc. provided CEI services in Flagler County for the Seawall at Painter’s Hill and Dune Restoration projects. The Seawall project consisted of constructing a 1248.3’ long seawall that matches the face, at either end, of an existing 130’ sheet pile seawall. The wall consisted of 16’ long, 18” wide vinyl sheet piling driven to a predetermined depth, with return walls extending perpendicular to the sheet pile wall, between property lines, 9’ inland. The seawall is anchored with 21’ long helical anchors with a 15,000 lbs. capacity, at 6’ on center. The top of the sheet pile and the anchor connections is encased in a 24” x 30” concrete cap, utilizing 4000 psi concrete. The inland side of the seawall is backfilled to the top of the cap. The beachside of the seawall was graded to an elevation approximately 7’ below the top of the cap. The Flagler Emergency Dune Restoration project consisted of creating and restoring the dune ridge for 11.4 miles of coastline. The project included FDEP, State, County and private properties and multiple funding sources. Construction items included preparation and restoration of work site and access points, handling, transport, delivery and placement of 500,000 cy of sand. Performance of all operations and surveys in connection with construction. Restoration accomplished by directly depositing sediment and reshaping it using earth moving equipment. Incidental items to work in accordance with Contract Documents, and purchase, handling, transport, delivery, placement of 850,000 sf of dune vegetation. Construction duration is 365 days.
