Project Description:
This Low-Bid Design/Build (D/B) project included the widening of I-75 from a 4-lane facility to six lanes. The work included taking the existing four travel lanes with 10’ shoulders to the outside and 4’ shoulders on the inside to six travel lanes with 12’ outside and inside shoulders. The work also included milling & resurfacing of the existing roadway with slope corrections as needed. A major feature of this project was the CR 470 Interchange which was completely reconstructed. The new bridge in the interchange accommodates a 4-lane facility on CR 470 including dual left turn lanes to southbound I-75 and a single left turn lane to northbound I-75. Major work elements included new pavement, ITS components, drainage systems, pond construction, bridge construction, box culvert extensions, median barrier, signing and pavement marking, lighting and signalization at CR 470, and milling & resurfacing.
